Many people are contributing to
PlanIt Pompano! First and foremost, residents, through their attendance and
valuable input provided at the public meetings, as well as comments and
questions (keep them coming!) submitted via our online form.
We also have an enthusiastic team
working on the preparation of the Comprehensive Plan Update:
The consultant team includes senior
professionals from Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. who specialize in
long-range planning, public outreach, climate change and resilience, and
transportation, among other disciplines. It also includes facilitation and
public relations support from Dickey Consulting Services.
Today, though, we particularly
recognize the staff from the City’s Planning and Zoning Department who have put
a lot of effort into making the planning process a success. They care a lot
about the community, and they are a fun group to work with! Special kudos go to
Principal Planner Jean Dolan, who manages the project on the City’s side as a
counterpart for the consultant team.
Thanks to all who participated in the October 24th, 2019 PlanItPompano! workshop. It is inspiring to experience your interest and enthusiasm to discuss the future of Pompano Beach in such constructive ways! Our gratitude also goes to City staff who attended the workshop, and to our teammates from Dickey Consulting Services who provided facilitation and transcribing for the small group dialogues.
Stay tuned for an upcoming summary of the work input. In the meantime, please check the Documents tab on the project site to get a second look at CGA’s workshop presentation, and to review the three draft PlanItPompano! elements that have been completed. If you have questions or comments, they must be submitted using the form found under the “Provide Feedback” tab.
The first drafts of three of
PlanItPompano!’s updated elements have been posted to our Documents page. These
three elements are closely aligned with the discussion topics that will be
covered at the October 24 workshop. We will also have copies available for
reference during the workshop.
More documents will be posted as
they are readied.
The second workshop, scheduled for October 24th at the E. Pat Larkins Center, at 5:30 p.m., will focus on three key issues with a brief presentation and an interactive round table discussion. We look forward to seeing you there.
PlanItPompano! held its first public workshop on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the E. Pat Larkins Community Center. Despite a very rainy morning, we had great attendance by motivated residents who shared their aspirations, concerns, and ideas about the future of Pompano Beach. Thanks to all of them for their enthusiasm!
